The nine foot loveable rascal, Big Rory, out for a walk with Ochie, his wayward mongrel. Inevitably there's total confusion as the amorous mutt careers around, peeing on lamp posts and heaven knows what else, with Rory in hot pursuit trying to contain the chaos. If you expect a quiet time from this pair, don't book them!

Mike Rowan (aka Big Rory) has been performing on stilts for over thirty years and is one of the most "stilt knowledgeable" people on earth. He has performed in 6 Continents, 35 different countries and more than 100 cities… In April 1988 he became the first person in the world to ski on stilts. He has also climbed 60 feet up ships rigging in stilts. In 2002 he also became the first person to walk on stilts on stilts! In creating Stiltz, the safest stilts ever to be designed, he won the John Logie Baird Award for "The most innovative product from an entrepreneur".

Andrés and Diana were born in '76, respectively, in Valparaíso (Chile) and Madrid (Spain). Andrés was studying Art and Diana was working as a photo reporter, but one day, each one for his own reasons, entered the world of puppetry. Both learned by themselves, and when they met, in 2003, decided together to become professional puppeteers. So Periplo was born, a travelling fellowship (as the name might suggest), dedicated to develop street theatre between Europe and America.
The company Periplo, of string puppets, is specialized in musical shows. Their puppets are realistic, as living sculptures attempting to be as human as possible in the unreal world of puppets. Read more!

Come to the table!
A feast for your eyes in a private room. Some seconds after, the curtains opens for a tête-à-tête between pupil, eyelid and line.
A mutual surprise, a little aperitif, an intermediate supper, a dessert on a festival’s menu.
“The eyes are the mirror of our soul”. Who said that?

Visual theatre and live painting in miniature by the painter and illustrator Silke Kruse and the special cicerone Gert Engel.

Silke Kruse studied in the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with Guenter Scherbarth and Heinz Weisbrich. She lives in Berlin, where, besides shadow theatre, she is an illustrator and writer. Gert Engel is also an artist and illustrator, they work together since 2000. Their first creation was “Frau Welt –Madame Monde”, a lyric shadow show for adults. They have made also “The Girl with the Stone Skirt”, presented in FIMFA Lx6. Since 2005, they work together under the name Theater Passt. In this year they also presented the show for children Die Drei Schulle – Les trois Chaussures”. Theater Passt investigates the relations between painting, text, objects and sounds, always with a very special ambiance. Read more!

A solo of objects theatre and postcards.

An unusual and moving show in form of “small absurd tests and short attempts of telling some things”...

Some collected postcards are kept inside a box with its own stories and words, landscapes and music... One day the box is opened and all these notes and fragments of memories fall out. A comic and moving character who, at the sound of kitsch music, offers us small passages of her life for us to taste... A minimalist, inventive show, intimist, intriguing, comic and gracious. A little jewel!

The Compagnie "à" was created in December of 2003 by Dorothée Saysombat. It was born from the will of exploring the lively writing forms, through the relation between actor and manipulated object, the public, sound and space. They have a preference for the objects theatre, the clown, the puppet, the cinema and the artistic proposals of small forms, privileging an intimist and precious relation with the public. Dorothée Saysombat, after her graduation in the École du Samouvar, collaborated as an actress and puppeteer with different groups, like Turak, from 2001 to 2005. She also works in cinema, and directed “Pás-de-portes à Roubaix” in 2003, and as visual artist, in animation movies and urbane installations. Read more!

A surrealistic journey of some minutes around the sumptuous scenography of a great theatre… The company of the Portuguese Paulo Ferreira, Clair de Lune Théâtre, headquartered in Belgium, invites us to watch its stories in the “Cyclo Théâtre”, a mobile shadow theatre, a “pocket theatre”… a world in small scale, like a toy theatre, where miniature rhymes with poetry.

A castelet conceived to present small stories, with no words, for seven spectators each time, where music has a basic role, inspiring and narrative. Stories that are like a sketch, synthetic, with some minutes length, beautiful and full of humour.

Came and take a walk in a shadow theatre on... wheels!

“La Boutique Fantasque” – In a big theatre, one magician makes transformations and believes that he can control everything, but his assistant doesn’t like him very much and everything can happen…
"Faux Semblantes" – The story of Little Red Riding Hood but a bit different from the traditional version…

Paulo Ferreira, encouraged by his firsts experiences with shadow theatre in the shows “La vie de Guesar de Ling” (France, 1984) and “Le Rossignol et l’Empereur” (Belgium, 1987), created the company Clair de Lune in 1990, with the collaboration of Paula Santos, Jesus Alvarez and Alfredo Boniquet. Paulo Ferreira, inspired by the work of Lotte Reiniger, the famous director of animation movies with silhouettes, is always looking to give the shadow theatre the same magic of her stories, because he considers her his “Shadow Master”.

She takes a bath in her sink, that is her domain.
She is as long as an arm, as gentle as a woman.
Maybe you’ll be lucky and can visit her in private.
For she will receive you in her castle. She is a queen.
What will she give you? What will you give her?
The small moment you will share with her will be unique and remain your secret...
Caroline Bergeron’s production for one spectator has a language of intimacy and vulnerability, of experiences that will shock you in a gentle way.

Caroline Bergeron, “show maker and Portuguese beginner”, was co-artistic director of Tof Théâtre for ten years and director of the company “Le Luxe” for three years. She worked several times with Madalena Victorino in Centro Cultural de Belém, like the show “Duelo”, for instance, that was co-produced by the same institution.
She developed many projects, like “Le Petit Bazar Erotic”. For this project she created “A Criatura”, which was revelled to her “in certain cases an emotional experience, a therapy. I was disconcerted by this experience and decided to investigate in this direction”. Caroline participated also in the Festival Percursos and started to developed and write the project “Sirens”. At the beginning of this year she started to “Invent an experience-show, called “Olha para ti”... about life before birth. As you can see, I am already trying to catch the world by the roots… To conclude… I heard a colleague of mine saying that he liked to be treated in the theatre like the children are by the pediatrician: gently and with respect. After all it’s this that I want to do: taking care of an audience of all ages with the same respect, delicacy and sensibility like we do with children. Read more!

The most precious jewel from Ateliers Denino was born in 1900. A miniature real theatre, with 700 seats, including the audience, show and a luster with 1200 pieces, all in crystal. The auditorium is full, but there are 10 seats still remaining, for each session - in the “gods”.

A theatre with its ushers, spectators that arrive late, working technicians, entertainments, the curtain opens and the actors are not bigger than flees, and there is also the applause.

“Created in 1900 by Atelier Denino, the Mechanical Theatre was presented in the Paris 1900 Exhibition. Latter this fair attraction was forgotten, and ended in a storehouse, full of dust. The theatre belonged to my grandfather. I knew its existence and I decided to restore it, tells Alan Richet. Four years of work, through the night, building hundreds of figures, the miniature luster, in crystal… light and sound effects… In its interior everything can be animated… and, of course, the Lilliputians actors, that act in the little stage… In the beginning the audience is sceptic, but when the little doors open and they see the auditorium they are astonished…”- Emmanuel Coubert, Sud Ouest.
